However, such knowledge was essential for me to better evaluate this book because SUGARCOATIN’ IS FOR CANDY & PACIFYING IS FOR KIDS is the written version of Nonnie Jules. You read this as if you’re reading her diary or listening to her talking. It’s a pleasure!

Inside this book you’ll find inspiring quotes, passionate ideas, and uplifting thoughts. But, in my opinion, the one that best summarizes the spirit of this book is this quote: “A tiny spark ignites a flame, just as a helping hand can do the same” – Nonnie Jules. I point this one out because Nonnie is a tireless advocate of the idea that the more you support others, the more you’ll be supported. You don’t believe me? Read the passage about Pope Francis and you’ll see what I mean. I don’t want to give spoilers here but let me tell you that she brought tears to a non-Catholic like myself. Oh, she’s a Baptist, by the way. LOL

And let me tell you another thing – Nonnie has opinions and she will tell you about them! She talks about a wide range of topics: from religion to pop music, from politics to raising children, from social media to bullying. But she talks mostly about her life passion – SUPPORTING INDIE AUTHORS and how to PROMOTE THEM. So, either if you’re an aspiring author, or an experienced one, this book is for you.

Since I have first-hand experience with Nonnie I can assure you that she practices what she preaches. I know. I’m one of these authors she goes out of her way to support. Do you need proof? This week I have been quieter than usual – social media and Internet wise – while reading this gem of a book. However, I hadn’t told anyone I was doing that. I simply tweeted and blogged less than I usually do. I got an email from Nonnie on Thursday asking me if I was doing all right. I smiled and replied I was feeling great but didn’t tell her she had a lot to do with that feeling. That morning I had read the passage in SUGARCOATIN’ IS FOR CANDY & PACIFYING IS FOR KIDS where she explains exactly why she reaches out to online friends when they’re too quite. Isn’t it amazing to find honest and generous people in this crazy self-absorbed world we are living? I think it is and I for one stick around genuine people when I find them. Nonnie, you won’t get rid of me that easily. LOL
