MEMBER OF THE MONTH
FEBRUARY, 2015
Here’s Beem in his own words (sometimes we’re lazy here):
My name is Beem Weeks, a 40-something-year-old indie author of several short stories, poems, essays, and the historical fiction/coming-of-age novel Jazz Baby. I have recently released a short story collection entitled Slivers of Life. A divorced father of two grown children, I have lived in Florida and Georgia, though I now call Michigan home. Among my literary influences I count Daniel Woodrell, Barbara Kingsolver, and Stephen Geez. I have been writing since childhood. As a teenager and young adult, I wrote concert and record reviews for a small publication. Journalism had been my intended field, but all that changed with the publication of a short story that eventually led to my first novel. I enjoy indie films, loud music, and a well-told story. Find me on Twitter @BeemWeeks and @voiceofindie.
He’d love to have you visit and follow his blog.
BEEM is one of the MOST uber-supportive members here at Rave Reviews Book Club and he also serves unselfishly on the Governing Board! He is very deserving of this award and will also receive a $10 Amazon Gift Card! Please support our MEMBER OF THE MONTHby picking up a copy of either of his books listed above if you can, supporting him on Social Media and by all means, tweet, re-tweet and share this page thru the month of February in honor of him!
