Kindness DOES matter

I used to volunteer in a charity foundation up to a couple of years ago and I witnessed this scene below countless times. We would drive around the neighborhood taking a loaf of bread with butter and a cup of hot chocolate to the homeless and, more often than not, they would split the bread in two to share it with their dogs.

I learnt a heartbreaking but powerfull lesson with this simple gesture – be kind to those who are faithful to you because they are the only ones who will stick around to the end, no matter what.
