AKA Quick Recap of Easter Cookie & Cookie Wars

AKA What the heck happened so far in the series?

If you read previous books a while back, you might not remember what happened, so this is a little something to jumpstart your memory.

Now, if you have not read them yet, I’ll give you a chance to do that before you dive into this installment of the series. Grab book #1 here – FREE in your favorite online store. You find book #2 here for only $0.99. Go on! I’ll wait.

Glad you’re back!

Highlights: Natalie Todeschini and Steve Clark went to high school together. Something happened back then that made them go their separate ways. You found out exactly what happened in Book #2, so no spoilers at the moment. Nowadays they are almost thirty, leading their own businesses, competing for a new client, but something still makes them melt whenever they meet. They cannot keep their hands off each other and they turn a bit klutz, not to mention accident prone, every time they lock eyes. Steamy make-out sessions and/or getting under the sheets become a routine. A blast from the past exploded the ending of book #2 into a million pieces. Again – no spoilers. Keep on reading to discover how the couple manages the situation.

For the juicy details of their sexy encounters and hilarious foreplay you must read books 1 and 2 in their entirety.

Chapter One

Natalie

I update Kate Upperton, my very proper business partner, on all things she missed about Mr. Steve Clark while overseas. I brace for an explosion after detailing what went down in his office when a certain Ms. Veronica Carter attempted to blow his and my chances at our budding relationship.

When Kate remains mute, it dawns on me the information dump might be a tad too much for her to process. Eyes fixed somewhere between my left shoulder and the horizon, she moves her lips without uttering any sounds. The ever-present, very British, rosy hue on her cheeks fade away. “That’s ludicrous,” she whispers.

“I know, right?” I nod and follow her movements as Kate unfolds from the chair opposite my desk.

She paces the polished floor behind the seat a few times. She lifts her left hand holding her own fingers with the right ones as if counting, her expression screwed. She is probably counting the ways one may murder a horny tramp without going to jail. Well, at least that’s what I’ve been ranking in my mind since that scene the ‘V-word’ – as I now call Steve’s ex – performed in his office.

Kate plops herself back on the vacant chair and loses it – her very proper British demeanor, I mean. “Who the fuck does she think she is? One does not simply walk up to a man, let alone at his place of business, and proceed to have a nosh! And in front of others, on top of that.”

I frown at the odd expression, but I don’t need a crash-course in Brit slang to get what she means. Gosh! I was there. I witnessed the V-word trying to swallow Steve’s family jewels.

“Exactly. I don’t care if she’s some big-shot movie star in a fucking superhero franchise. Hell, I don’t care if she’s a fucking superhero! The V-word won’t get between Steve and me. I won’t let her.”

“V-word?” Kate knits her eyebrows as her gaze shoots to mine. She relaxes her forehead with a snicker. “Oh, because her name’s Veronica Carter. That’s clever.”

Years of yoga training come in handy at the drop of that name. Still, the muscles on my jaw hurt as I clench them tight. A long inhale followed by even longer exhale and I’m ready to let go of the bad mojo.

For now.
