Welcome to Spotlight Sunday. I’m Liz Gavin and today I’m thrilled to introduce you to Amanda Heartley

LG: Where are you from?

I was born and raised in Oklahoma, but I moved to southern Cali many years ago, and I love it here in the sunshine!

LG: Do you have hobbies? What’s your favorite pastime?

Honestly, I don’t have a lot of free time for hobbies. My kids are grown but the younger ones still live at home and being a grandma and an author keeps me busier than a mosquito in a nudist camp most days! When I do get some down time, I love just spending it with my man and my family.

LG: If you had a TARDIS – or any other time machine – would you revisit any period of your life? If so, what advice would you give your younger self?

Love to go back and be 27 again! Mature enough, but still able to party hard. Advice to myself? Seize every opportunity… and don’t get old!

LG: Tell us about something your readers would be surprised to learn about you.

I write in my jammies a lot of the time.

LG: What was the kindest, nicest thing anyone has ever done to you? Was it unexpected?

That’s a hard one since I’ve been shown amazing love and kindness by a lot of people over the many years I’ve been alive. I honestly don’t think I could pick out one thing as the nicest, but I’m grateful to some amazing gals in my reader group who help keep it going when I’m buried in my work.

LG: How long have you been an author? Why did you decide to write?

I’ve been a published author since 2013. I enjoyed reading steamy romance and had so many stories of my own in my head that I wanted to get out. Never imagined I’d sell a single book though!

LG: What was the inspiration(s) behind your favorite title?

The Oceans Apart series was inspired by the relationship between a friend of mine and her British boyfriend. They met by chance in a bar in Santa Clara while he was on temporary assignment in Silicon Valley. They swapped details, probably both thinking nothing would come of it since they lived half a world apart, but the boyfriend is now her husband, they have two kids and are living happily in England!

LG: Is there any message from your favorite book with which you wanted readers to take away?

A chance meeting can lead to more than you ever imagine, and no matter the distance, love can’t be denied if you both feel it!

LG: Have you ever learned something surprising about yourself while researching and/or writing a book? If so, could you share it with us?

When I wrote my Irish trilogy, I grew to love the Irish accent, and researching the area around Dublin was amazing. It helped me make that series so much fun to write! I can so picture Rory and all his sisters bantering with each other in the family home!

LG: Please provide all your contact information so our readers can stalk you.
